Ruby is a jeweller and artist based in Melbourne. She completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts and Honours, majoring in gold and silversmithing at RMIT.
"I have always loved making and creating from an early age. There is something really satisfying about making objects and jewellery from start to finish, and learning so many new technical and conceptual skills".
"For me, the process of making doesn't end with a finished product, it continues with the new wearer, and the new life of the piece. This is why I love making jewellery, it is sentimental, and interpreted differently by the wearer".
Ruby focusses on making unique, wearable and one off pieces. She creates jewellery featuring bold and bright colours and botanical inspired pieces from her natural surroundings, such as her garden or surrounding flora near her home. Many pieces evolve through exploration of materials, techniques and designing, to create special wearable mementos.
