Modern Relic -

The notion of my first area of research in 2018 revolved around the symbol of the wreath - which belongs to ancient Greek mythology. This Wreath focusses on delicate forms and the materiality of leaves and examines how this delicacy can be replicated and explored through different materials, natural and unnatural. This work also explores the value of materials, examining the difference in meaning conveyed through non-precious materials such as plastic versus fine gold shim - used in ancient wreaths.

Fragile Possibilities - exploring connections between organic and industrial forms

This body of work explores the relationship between industrial and organic, by investigating the materiality of hot glue with other metals and materials. By incorporating hot melt glue in my work, a fluid and spontaneous nature is combined with more solid structures to create organic, botanic inspired forms.
